Payouts to India in INR

India moves money between banks in seconds, around the clock, holidays included. A recipient needs two fields: an IFSC code and an account number.

What you pass in the request

A request with account number and branch ifsc code goes to IFSC · IMPS · NEFT in India; the response comes back with the status: completed, typically under 5 minutes.
  • Payouts

Account number and branch IFSC code.

  • Sender identity

Sender: name only. Recipient name: required.

How the payout works

Two fields and nothing else

An IFSC code is eleven characters: four letters for the bank, a zero, six alphanumeric for the branch, as in HDFC0001234. The code carries the bank, so there is no directory to fetch. We check the shape first; a malformed code comes back before money leaves.

Which instant rail carries the transfer depends on amount and moment; your request stays the same. Whole rupees only; a decimal is refused on creation.

A name is enough

Register the sender once with a first and last name and reference the returned identifier on every payout. No document, no address, no identity check before the first transfer.

Questions and answers

  • What does an IFSC code look like?

Eleven characters — four letters, a zero, then six alphanumeric. For example HDFC0001234. We validate the shape when the payout is created.

  • Can I pay to a UPI handle instead?

Payouts on this corridor are addressed by IFSC and account number. UPI handles are how people pay each other inside India; they are not the addressing used for an inbound business payout.

  • Why whole rupees?

The corridor settles in whole units. An amount with a decimal part is rejected before anything is sent, so nothing is lost in rounding.

  • How long does it take?

Under five minutes in the normal case, at any hour. A receiving bank running its own checks can stretch that.

  • What happens if the account is closed?

The receiving bank refuses it and the funds return to your balance in the same move. There is no separate refund to chase.
