ShopeePay is the e-wallet of the Shopee marketplace, part of Sea Group. Its balance is used to shop, pay bills and pay by QR code, in Indonesia, the Philippines and other markets.

A wallet in the bank directory

For a payout, an e-wallet sits next to the banks: ShopeePay has its own code in the directory we return, and the recipient is identified by the phone number on the wallet, with their name.

Two markets, one shape

The request looks the same in Indonesia and in the Philippines. What differs is the currency: rupiah are whole numbers, pesos allow centavos.

Questions and answers

  • Is a wallet payout addressed differently from a bank payout?

    Only in the last field. The wallet has a code in the same directory as banks; the recipient is identified by phone number instead of an account number.
