Phone numbers and printed codes

Yape payments are addressed by a phone number or by a code, often printed and taped to a counter. The code identifies the recipient; the payer types the amount.

Paying a Peruvian code from abroad

On DVBridge, Peru is a QR market: your user scans the code, and the request carries the payload as read. A printed code usually carries no amount, so your user enters one before paying.

Questions and answers

  • Can a Yape user pay a Plin user?

Yes. Peru's central bank has required wallets to work with each other, and Yape and Plin are connected.
